Today we spent the day at Granny’s house as the men came to dig up our floor. We went to the supermarket, then we made cakes. Granny had made cakes with them before so knew exactly how to play it with two tots. I hadn’t, partly due to my oven of death so made some rookie mistakes. These included turning my back on them when they were sat on the kitchen floor with a bowl of icing. Oops. I particularly like Arthur’s eyebrow cake (see picture). What amazed me was the fact that when we decorated them I told them not to eat the smarties (they have had them before and know how yum they are) and they didn’t! They just carefully decorated the buns. Then afterwards when the cakes were on the worktop letting the icing set. Arthur found two smarties dropped on the floor. He asked if he could eat them and when we said yes he gave one to Elliott. I think that is amazing, I was so proud of him. Smarties are some of his favourite sweeties so opting to share with Elliott was a very kind thing to do.
We saw Lelly and baby Isaac. I got to have a lovely cuddle with him today and kiss his chubby gorgeous peach cheeks.
We decided that since our house didn’t have a working cooker we would eat out. Arthur and Elliott sat in their highchairs for nearly two hours (the service was very ‘relaxed’) and were awesome. So today I have been very proud of them. I always am but I think I am really starting to appreciate the bond they have with each other.
I also love that we can talk to each other. Arthur is amazing at putting words together and can say four word phrases as well as being able to count to 10 sequentially. Elliott isn’t quite as good at combining long strings of words but is fantastic at picking up language. All I have to do is tell him a word once and he has it. He knows the words for the most obscure things and is constantly surprising me.
So yes that was my proud mummy account for the evening. To top it off both of them said ‘I love you Mummy’ as they went to bed tonight without being prompted. I feel like the luckiest Mummy in the whole wide world. Thanks for being so cool Ari and E. I love you.
